what are you working on right now? Are you doing well?

Hello everyone!
After reading a blog post here on CP about alternative summer yarns, I decided to buy a skein of a Tencel/linen blend. I’m really thrilled with it—it feels wonderfully soft, crochets beautifully, and has a luxurious look.
The yarn sheds a bit, so small strands sometimes come loose; that’s why it requires some crocheting experience.

I’m going to buy some more of this yarn today and crochet a mesh shirt that I can wear over a white blouse.

I’m doing okay, dear Josefa. It’s (almost) summer, so naturally I’m in a better mood. Over the next few days or weeks, I’d like to sew some muslin summer dresses for my granddaughter. I haven’t worked with this fabric on my sewing machine yet, so I’m really looking forward to it.

  But since I carried way too many watering cans full of water through my garden yesterday to water the tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, my neck is sore today and I need to take it easy. But at least my mind can get a head start on the work.

Both lives are going well! Real life has been great lately—the weather’s been perfect for being outside, and I’ve been out and about a lot.
It’s raining today, so my yarn life is picking up again. I crocheted a summer pillow for the sofa, and now I’m knitting a bit more on that chunky, cozy sweater for next winter until I decide what I want to crochet next.
And I’ve been doing a little painting, too. Since I couldn’t find any flower planters in the colors I wanted, I painted some gray ones I already had.
My phone’s plugged in to charge—once it’s fully charged, I’ll post the photos.

Yes, everything’s going well for me, too. I finished the red mug—it’s a gift for our optician. We also put a little lucky worm made from the same yarn inside the mug. 


And right now I’m working on this blue-and-cream-colored container. It used to be the lid of a wine box; phew, my husband wanted to throw it away ;-). The cardboard ring was attached all the way around the lid; I cut it off, trimmed it a bit, and am turning it into a lid for the round tin. It’s completely crocheted, inside and out—maybe I’ll use it as a piggy bank; we’ll see. I still need to crochet the lid from the ring and maybe add a “bump” or a pom-pom on top.

 

I’ve now finished the little tin made from the lid of a wine box—I really like it :-).

Veronika, I love your painted pots—upcycling is always a good idea. And now they’ll definitely match your decor better.

  Rusalki01—you can always use little containers like that. They’re just a nice decoration. I always add empty plastic containers because of their shape and how clean they are, and there’s always something that fits inside them.

I’m crocheting my way through my huge stash of yarn in my crafting life, and in real life I’m spending a lot of time in the garden—after our vacation, it looks like a jungle out there. 

 

I’m taking it easy to start off… maybe a few paper lanterns 🩷

I’m feeling better too, and I’m not starting anything new—I’m just continuing to work on the vest I’m currently making. The back is finished, and I’m about three-quarters of the way up the first front panel. I’m not rushing it; when it’s done, it’s done, and if it takes a little longer, that’s fine too :-). It’s for myself—I’m not taking on any more commissioned work.

I’m kicking off June with the super-cute nativity figures from Mtinitoon. Not because I’m longing for Christmas, but so I can finish all the figures in peace before then. They’ll be displayed at our nursing home to bring joy to the residents.

I treated myself to some more Cottonhair in a different color and am making a little cardigan out of it. I only needed 75 grams for my finished cardigan, and even though the pattern is airy, it’s nice and warm. I even tested it on Sal in the wind 😅
