How do you like to crochet / knit / sew your sleeves?

It really depends on the pattern and the fabric—there are so many sleeve styles and techniques.
I generally prefer longer sleeves (elbow-length, 3/4, or full-length); I think they look more stylish (on me, at least).
- The easiest to sew are cut-on sleeves (e.g., kimono, batwing), which practically form on their own when you sew the front and back pieces together.
- Then there are raglan sleeves, which are also well-suited for beginners because the seams are almost straight.
- Set-in sleeves for stretchy fabrics and for loose-fitting casual wear made from non-stretchy fabrics: first, only the (usually flat) sleeve cap is sewn in, and then the side and sleeve seams are closed in one go.
- Set-in sleeves for more figure-hugging blouses/shirts made from non-stretch fabrics: the side seams and sleeve seams are closed first, then the sleeve is set in “in the round,” usually easing in the upper part of the sleeve cap.
- The ultimate challenge involves, for example, blazers and coats with two-piece sleeves or sleeves with shoulder pads.
And if you’re up for a little challenge, you can sew all of this—for unlined garments—using French seams ;-)

Before I discovered RVO, I always started sleeves from the top with the sleeve cap.
When I followed a pattern, I had to recalculate the measurements every time, otherwise the sleeves would have turned out too long.
It was quite a fiddly process, especially when the sleeves had a pattern.
