Hello everyone,
I’d like to sew myself a straight, short, comfortable dress out of sweatshirt fabric for fall/winter. What I’d like in the sewing pattern is:
- slightly fitted at the waist
- straight cut
- with bust darts
- no hood, no drawstring at the neckline
Everything I’ve found looks more sporty, like a hoodie, and fits more loosely and balloon-shaped. I prefer it more figure-hugging, since I usually wear leggings at home.
Now I’ve found a pattern here that matches what I’m looking for (apart from the waist shaping):

On closer inspection, I’ve now noticed that the dress has a seam in the back. That’s holding me back from buying it. What are your experiences with a seam in the back? Since I already can’t stand clothing labels at the neck, the back seam would probably bother me even more, wouldn’t it?
And does anyone perhaps have a tip on where I can find a sewing pattern for my dream dress? By PM is fine too.
Thank you very much for your opinions.
Best regards, Ina
