My experience with AI

The Labubu trend hasn’t passed my granddaughter by either, and she really wanted me to crochet one for her. “I’ll have to experiment a bit first to get it just the way you want it,” I said. To which my son replied, “Just have the AI generate a pattern for you—it’ll take you a minute.” Okay, so I asked the AI (I’m open to new technology, after all).

This is what the Labu was supposed to look like, according to the AI:

And this is what came out after I followed the pattern exactly:

(Admittedly, I didn’t feel like crocheting the sun anymore, and I didn’t put much effort into embroidering the face either...)

And here’s the result based on my own design:

Conclusion: The AI is NOT YET serious competition for us designers. But of course, it’s still learning....

Even though I don’t like Labubus, you did a great job with these!

Now I first had to Google what that even is.
