Exactly, Sabine—I like that baking pan with the pretty roses, too. But I wouldn’t say no to a slice of quark cake either. It’s making me hungry… maybe I should bake one again sometime. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you all so much. The cake is almost all gone. I also took some cake over to my parents. It was delicious. If anyone wants it, I’ll post the recipe here.

I once bought this pretty baking pan at an auction (at the garden restaurant where we used to go dancing—they held a small auction there). Everyone brought one or two items they no longer needed and bid on something else in exchange for a small surcharge.
This baking set (it’s a 3-piece set) also includes a smaller round springform pan and a heart-shaped springform pan.

And today we’re going out for coffee (me and my two coworkers)—the sun is shining, we have the day off—what more could you want?
