Standing Amigurumi / How Do Amigurumi Stay Upright?

Dear users, dear designers,
what can you fill amigurumi with, or are there any tricks to help amigurumi stand on their own?

For two-legged figures, putting one (or more) pebbles at the bottom of the foot usually helps; four-legged figures almost always stand on their own. Or you can build a support into the design—that’s what I did with this Santa Claus and his sacks.

You can cheat a little....

For amigurumi or decorative items that are meant to stand, I insert a precisely fitting cardboard disc. For the last row of the base, I crochet only into the back loop. After finishing, I crochet a ridge with a row of single crochet stitches into the visible front loop. Nothing has ever tipped over on me this way.🧶
