How do you transfer a sewing pattern onto fabric?

Dear users, dear authors,
how do you get the sewing pattern from paper onto fabric?

By placing the cut-out sewing pattern on the fabric so that it fits, making sure to follow the grainline—otherwise it’ll pucker and pull when worn :-) Place the cut-out sewing pattern on the WRONG side of the fabric, following the grainline. This way, you can mark the notches/markings, including the seam allowance, without them being visible from the right side. Secure the sewing pattern with a few pins or weigh it down so it doesn’t slip on the fabric.  Before you start cutting, it’s a good idea to double-check everything to make sure it’s positioned correctly and that it’s the right pattern you want to use. The sewing pattern should be laid out to save fabric, but PLEASE ALWAYS MAKE SURE to add the seam allowance if it isn’t already included in the sewing pattern.
