Sock Yarn + Leftover Sock Yarn: November Highlights 2024

Dear users, dear authors,
here in this thread and in the shop you’ll find delightful patterns, not just for Christmas, that can be handmade with sock yarn and leftover sock yarn. 

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc. All patterns advertised here must have at least 10 sales / a CR of at least 2% and must not have been advertised in the forum in the past 3 weeks. 

Sock yarn is very practical because it usually has a (high) wool content and keeps its color and shape. But you can knit more than just socks with it. Here I’ll show you a few examples of what I’ve already made from sock yarn and leftover sock yarn.

Knitted Poncho with Fringe

Here I used 500 g of 6-ply sock yarn. The pattern is very easy, and the cut is uncomplicated too. The color gradients come straight from the ball of yarn. The poncho looks casual and modern.



Crocheted Poncho in Different Variations with Hat

Of course, sock yarn can also be crocheted. Here I crocheted a few pretty ponchos for my grandchildren’s little dolls. The pattern and shape are suitable for beginners. This would also be a good project to make with interested children who are just learning to crochet. It’s a lot of fun, you need very little yarn, and in the end you’ve made something beautiful yourself.
