Pockets in clothing: do you have any preferences?

which pockets on / in clothing do you like best?

On jackets and coats, I prefer patch pockets; I don’t like pockets in pants at all, because I tend to stuff anything I find around the house—as long as it’s small enough—into them right away, so afterward I always end up with “hoarder pockets,” like a hamster gathering its winter supplies, and that looks really unattractive—just like tissues that get crumpled up and stuffed into my pants pocket. It ALWAYS creates unsightly bulges, and right where I’m already way too wide.

I sometimes like patch pockets on cardigans and jeans, and often those hidden pockets on the inside, where you can only see the slit from the outside (e.g., on coats, dresses, and dress pants...)
I always need pockets on my clothes.

What I really don’t like are those patch cargo pockets—or whatever they’re called. I used to like them.

Actually, I like pants pockets and cargo pockets too—I’m a bit of a hoarder myself—but before I leave the house, I empty all my pockets. :-)
When it comes to jackets, I also like patch pockets or ones with contrasting trim, a chunky zipper, or something like that—so the pockets aren’t just practical but also a visual highlight.

I especially like pockets in or on clothing because then I don’t always have to carry a handbag around with me. Pants without pockets would be completely impractical for me. I also have a specific system for my pants pockets that I stick to: in the front right pocket, my keys and, if needed, my shopping list; in the front left pocket, my wallet; in the back right pocket, my parking ticket, if necessary; and in the back left pocket, a handkerchief. Folded handkerchiefs don’t add (much) bulk. And even if they did, I wouldn’t care.

If I’m wearing a jacket, whatever would otherwise go in my front pants pockets goes into the jacket pockets instead. I don’t wear jackets without pockets—except for cardigans, which would lose their shape.

I don’t have any particular preference in this regard.
The main thing is that there are pockets so I can at least slip a handkerchief into one.
