Beginner-friendly amigurumi?

Dear users, dear authors,
which animals / amigurumi are suitable for beginners? Movable heads and thin arms that have to be stuffed with filling material aren’t really suitable for beginners, I assume?

Yes, I suppose it depends on the size. Otherwise: simple shapes like spheres, egg shapes, etc. I’m thinking, for example, of a snowman or a bunny.
Most of these little animals are made up of such simple shapes. Then there’s the yarn: for beginners, I find cotton works best. It holds its shape well, and you can see the stitches clearly.
Also, a pattern for beginners should be described in detail, with as few abbreviations as possible and plenty of pictures. 

Yes, I’d say so too—avoid tiny, fiddly projects and use a smooth yarn, and then you’ll be able to get the hang of it right away.

Yes, a simple jellyfish with chain stitch tentacles is a great place to start.
