Weekend Projects for Relaxed Crafting in the Garden

the week is over. It’s time to relax. Here in this thread you’ll find patterns that are great to make in the garden or on the balcony. I hope you have lots of fun and pleasant weather.

How about a heart-shaped gift? You can knit this square as a washcloth, pot holder, or dishcloth to make a lovely gift for yourself or a loved one.

The square is very easy to knit and doesn’t even require a whole skein of yarn.

I love finding a shady spot in the garden and crocheting with a light summer yarn. 

Like these cotton pennants for a garland, for example.



As decoration for the home or garden—I’ve also often given them as gifts with the baby’s name on them for a birth.

The “Hello Colorful World” blanket is crocheted in spiral rounds. A gradient yarn or a yarn cake works very well for this. Once you get started, you just keep going with chain stitches and double crochets until you reach the desired size.

You can easily start crocheting this little dress for your little princesses over the weekend. 

The special round-yoke construction allows it to grow with them up to the next clothing size. 

The “worry-free pattern” consists of several tables with stitch distribution and increases in the round yoke for each clothing size, from baby size 50/56 to teen size 158/164.
(Attention: adult sizes are not included yet and will follow at a later date in a separate offer!)

An elegant little pouch embroidered with beads for your handbag is a practical storage basket, because you can keep coins, tissues, tampons, or lipstick in it. The pattern is very easy, so you can crochet the little beaded pouch perfectly well in the garden or on the balcony. And even when it’s hot, your hands won’t get sweaty, because the pouch is crocheted from cotton yarn.



Also made with beads, which this time are crocheted in, is this pretty summer bracelet that only needs a small amount of leftover yarn. It crochets up very quickly, so make several right away to match your outfits!



A slightly larger but very simple project are these colorful lanterns, which are also great for using up leftover yarn. The lanterns are fitted with LED string lights that don’t get hot. Caution: Do not use candles!

Crafting in the garden? Who’s so optimistic? We just had to endure another thunderstorm with heavy rain, and the forecast for tomorrow doesn’t look too promising either. So I’ll probably end up back on the sofa in the living room, and the “theological” walk in the woods will likely have to be canceled…
Yesterday I visited my daughter in Laufenburg and checked out the works from the Street Art campaign—yarn-bombed objects. Across the border, about 50 women have crocheted granny squares around trees, benches, and entire fountains, wrapped yarn around bicycles, and decorated the bridge over the Rhine with little national flags. Of course, I immediately felt inspired to spruce up my garden fence a bit, for example…
