Happy weekend and happy start to summer

Dear users, dear authors,
I wish you all a pleasant weekend with lots of fun doing crafts and a wonderful start to summer. What are your plans?

The start of summer—yes, you can really feel it. The rain is getting warmer. But apparently it’s supposed to dry up here next week, too. Cologne is a rain trap—it always has been—but this year is breaking all records. My balcony flowers are holding up bravely, but they’re blooming sparingly—it’s always so gloomy and gray out here. And the tomato harvest is going to be more than modest, too.
So indoors, I’ll be crocheting and knitting, reading and eating, sleeping, and I still want to watch a few movies as well.

Thank you all! I also wish everyone here a lovely weekend with lots of sunshine and time for the beautiful things in life.

It will be very nice in our garden tomorrow, with a high of 24 degrees. Even knitting will be possible. :)

Summer? It feels like it’s raining every day here, and everything is wet and damp. As a result, there are endless slugs (I collected 52 slugs this morning) and lots of mosquitoes around. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to sit comfortably on the patio in the evening. But during the day, it’s lovely in the garden, and I enjoy spending time there doing crafts or reading.

what you end up doing when you have neither TV reception nor internet. I still had an old tobacco tin lying around, so I dressed it up in a prettier outfit :-))
Yesterday we had a strong thunderstorm, so the TV screen stayed dark, and then, as if things weren’t boring enough, it finally fried our Fritzbox too. Luckily, my hubby knows a lot about that and had an older Fritzbox lying in reserve, which he has now
 connected for the time being.
That was our Midsummer celebration :-) ;-))

Inge, that’s not so great, but it has its perks. It gives you a chance to get offline for a bit... ;-)
We always unplug everything when there’s a thunderstorm—the Fritzbox, the PC, and so on. Many years ago, lightning struck a tree at our neighbor’s house, and nothing worked at all on the whole street. Luckily, our insurance covered the damage back then. But we learned our lesson, and the only thing that helps is unplugging everything.

After yesterday’s thunderstorm, the air is really fresh now, the sun is finally shining, and it’s very pleasant out in the garden.

We always unplug the TV and the radio equipment (my husband is an amateur radio operator), but never the Fritzbox—because my husband has it well secured; after all, he trained as a computer technician. The Fritzbox was already nearly 6 years old and had been giving us trouble on and off for the past few weeks; my husband had already said it was just a matter of time.

The weather here has been mixed—yesterday it was rainy and muggy, but the sun came out in the late afternoon. Just the right weather for celebrating.
Here in Brandenburg/H., the Havelfest has been going on from Friday through Sunday, with plenty of booths and stages. Bosse and Juli were here on Friday.
I had to work, of course, but after work I picked up some fish sandwiches for us.

Today we’re going to a 60th birthday party—I’ve finished making all the crafts and packed everything up.
Sunday is all about relaxing and doing crafts: off to the sofa, feet up, with a cappuccino and the rest of the homemade cheesecake.

Have fun, everyone, with your crafts, gardening, or whatever you’ve got planned.
