Software for Creating Crochet Patterns

Dear all,
Yesterday, my goddaughter asked me if I could crochet some dishcloths with her company’s logo for the kitchen at her work. Does anyone know of any good software that can convert the company logo into a crochet pattern for me???
I’ve never done anything like this before.

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any software that can convert a design well at such a relatively small size. Maybe someone else will have a good suggestion. One option, though, would be to trace the company logo onto graph paper without using any software at all. When crocheting, you have the advantage that the stitches are roughly square, so graph paper with 5 mm squares comes quite close to the actual stitch size. Depending on the desired size of the washcloth, you could then use, for example, 50 stitches across.

Dear Renate,

there’s an app that can help you with your project. It’s called Wolltasia and you can find it on Google Play. There, you can convert photos and images into pixel images and then crochet the design based on them.

Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly how it works—you’ll have to take a closer look yourself. There are tutorials for the program on YouTube.
