Categories: Move, Remove, Add—Do You Have Any Suggestions?

Hello, fellow forum members,

I’d love to hear (or read) your thoughts on the categories here. Are any missing, or are there any that should be deleted? Maybe a category name isn’t quite right somewhere?

A restriction will be introduced soon. According to this, a pattern may be listed in a maximum of 2 categories. Before this is implemented, the categories need to be optimized accordingly, and your feedback is invaluable.

Good question - what counts as a category?
Example: crocheted Easter bunny.
- Crochet
- Amigurumi
- Amigurumi animal
- Holidays
Would that then be 4 categories?

The restriction applies to 2 lowest-level categories. For example:

Amigurumi->Toys and Amigurumi->Dolls
Children->Shoes and Baby->Shoes
Women->Hat and Children->Hat

 

Oh, right. What about patterns—like hats, for example—that are designed for the whole family, meaning they include all sizes?

That’s a good question. Here we have a choice: either we allow more than two categories as an exception (for rare products or sets), or we add categories specifically for sets. Which would you prefer?

It would be better to post these patterns twice so that customers can find them where they’re looking.

I do find my little animals tricky, though; they usually fit under Amigurumi--->Animals, Amigurumi --->Toys for Children, Baby ---> Toys, Decor----->Miscellaneous, Holidays -->Birthday .......... so what do I do now? List the item multiple times? My little frog would even fit under Decor--> Pillows
