If my parents were still alive, I would lovingly make the following gifts for them:

My mom would get a warm knitted cardigan. Older people get cold easily, so a cardigan is always a good and quick source of warmth. The cardigan has large pockets, a lengthening shawl collar, and a belt. Of course, I would knit it in her favorite colors. The play of colors comes directly from the beautiful thick yarn. We knit it as a top-down raglan, so there are hardly any ends to weave in.

For my father, I would knit warm felted slippers. Of course, I would sew a leather sole underneath so they wouldn’t be slippery. I would choose the tall felted shoe model with the roll collar. Men tend not to like colors that are too flashy, so maybe something like these here ...

Would you like to surprise your mom with homemade flowers? With my pattern for paper camellias you’re sure to pull off the surprise!



The flowers shown are about 28 cm tall, but you can, of course, make them longer or shorter. I made them out of photo cardstock, crepe paper, and wire. With a little crafting experience, these camellias are very easy to recreate.

The crocheted bag with the word "Mama" can be used as a shopping net, but also as a beach bag. It is roomy and very sturdy. Thanks to the filet technique, where only chain stitches and double crochet stitches are crocheted, the work goes quickly.



If Dad is a soccer fan, he is sure to have lots of fun with soccer mascot Toorsten. Toorsten’s body consists of individual pentagons and hexagons that are sewn together to form a ball. Crochet Toorsten in the club colors of Dad’s favorite team or in Germany’s colors—then he can be part of the European Soccer Championship this summer!



The gift bag with heart pattern is a loving package for all kinds of gifts. With a diameter of 9 cm and a height of 20 cm, it has a practical size for many small items and is ideal for wrapping bottles.

A lovely idea for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is a self-crocheted Yin & Yang. This symbol represents the harmonious balance of opposites and, at the same time, how they complement each other; the same is true in many parent-child relationships.
