I’m Niklas, and I’m living with my new mom now. They sent me off on my journey wearing nothing but a big, baggy shirt and one of those old-fashioned diapers. Oh man, that was so embarrassing… I’m already a big boy (55 cm).

My mom quickly made me some pants and a sweater so I’d look presentable. She said she “fell head over heels in love” the moment she saw me and just had to have me. Now I’m her little ray of sunshine. Isn’t that great?

I’m sure I’ll get lots more cute things. I’ll show them to you then, too.
For now, lots of love from Niklas.

Oh, what a sweet little Niklas—I can totally see why his mom fell head over heels in love with him :-)))

Love, Inge

A ray of sunshine for the soul—and now he’s not cold anymore. Welcome, Niklas, to your new home.

Oh, how cuuute your little Niklas is, Marlies! And his new clothes suit him especially well; after all, they were crocheted(?) with love by his mom.

I would have been smitten at first sight too; I can understand you very well. Your Niklas is sure to get quite a few more lovely things to change into. And you’re guaranteed to have fun dressing him. I’m just starting to design new things for my doll children again—that’s what I enjoy most.

I wish you lots of joy with your new family member. Thank you for introducing Niklas to us.

Warm regards
Monika

Your Niklas is a really handsome one.

I really like the sweater, and it’s sure to keep him warm.

I’m curious to see what the two of you get up to in the near future.

Thank you all so much. 😊 I was so thrilled when I saw him on the screen.

The sweater is knitted, and the pants are crocheted. The yarn had originally been bought for something else that ended up falling through. Now it was just perfect for the little one.
I don’t even know where to start. I have so many things on my list. He’s already in size 56/62. It’s always a bit of an in-between situation, because in size 56 the legs don’t quite fit, and in size 62 the sleeves are always too long.

But whatever—I’m happy with my little ray of sunshine.

Warm regards
Marlies

Another “new baby” in our group. Your Niklas looks so cute with his two little teeth.
The clothes look great on him.
I’m curious to see how his wardrobe “grows.” He’s pretty big, after all.

Thanks, Andrea. The size is kind of a problem. Doll sizes are too small and baby sizes are too big (sleeves). So I always have to improvise. Right now I’m juggling thicker yarn, different needle sizes, and doll shoe patterns. After all, Niklas needs shoes, too. 😉
I’ve already bought a few patterns here for pants, sweaters, and jackets. I’ll have to tweak those a bit, too. We’ll show you the new wardrobe then.

The second outfit is done. It’s made from the yarn I ordered for my jacket…😀

It’s not as easy as I thought… The pattern is based on sizes 50–62, so I have to figure out the right measurements and adjust them accordingly. It doesn’t work that way with shoes, though. Niklas is more of a “sock kid,” I guess 😉

Oooh, Marlies, you’ve really found yourself a cute baby there. 😘

Your Niklas looks really wonderful in his new outfits; you’ve made him some beautiful pieces.
Have you already looked here among the free baby shoe patterns?
There might be something suitable for Niklas there; from the looks of it, some can be easily adapted.

Or would Niklas perhaps also be happy with knitted spiral socks?

Marlies, your Niklas really looks adorable in his new clothes. Now with his hair—without a hat—he looks just like a real person. So cute!

You’ve done a really great job. I also have a 55-cm doll. Most clothes meant for 50 cm fit him if they’re stretchy—or clothes for 60 cm work if the arms and legs are a bit shorter. I think you’re doing a great job.

Thank you so much, Marion. I just couldn’t say no to him.
Yes, Niklas is going to be a spiral-sock kid. I’ve tried on several pairs of shoes. None of them fit right. But I haven’t given up yet...😉

Thanks to you too, Monika. With his brown hair, he looks completely different than when he’s wearing a hat. Whether he’s wearing a hat or not, when I look at him, the sun comes out.🤩
I’m experimenting a bit now. With pants, the back actually needs to be a little higher than the front. Since his right arm is bent, the sleeve doesn’t need to be as long as the left one.
Well, I’ll get it right eventually.
