Cotton—in this case, even recycled yarn—works very well for knitting washcloths. It’s good for the environment and saves money, too. These wash mitts have an exfoliating effect. I made these to fulfill a friend’s wish, and she’s absolutely thrilled.

For leftover cotton yarn, the little baby shoe would be ideal, as a fun keychain or bag charm. My little great-nieces and nephews have them dangling from their kindergarten bag or school bag. It’s also a lovely gift idea for young mothers, grandmas, or for a baby shower. And it’s quick to crochet with very little material needed.

here you can find the crochet pattern baby shoe

Or Easter egg chicks, beautifully colorful as flower picks or for the Easter branches. Easter always comes sooner than you think, and they’re quick to crochet. Your leftover cotton yarn will disappear quickly with these.

Last but not least, I can offer you a free crochet pattern. Chickens for the Easter branches, as table decorations, or set on a little moss for the windowsill—they look really sweet during Lent.
Quick to crochet, little material needed, and great for using up your leftover cotton yarn.

You can make lots of cute little things from leftover cotton yarn. For example, I really enjoy crocheting bookmarks from it, because there are lots of bookworms among my friends and acquaintances who would be delighted with an original bookmark.

For the fun clown bookmark, you need small leftover amounts in lots of bright colors—the more colorful, the better! The clown is about 18 cm tall and can also be appliquéd onto a T-shirt.

The Frog Prince bookmark is, of course, a lovely little gift especially for anyone who enjoys reading fairy tales.

And here’s a cute fox bookmark. My granddaughter fell in love with it right away and absolutely had to have it, even though she doesn’t read much. Now she has it as a “cuddly toy for her trouser pocket.”

I have a big box of colorful leftover cotton yarn. You can crochet wonderful things from it. I’ll show you a few ideas of mine and hope you have lots of fun making them.

Warm regards from Ina

Pencil Roll

You can use it for pencils or brushes. All the pencils are inserted, then the flap is folded down and the case is rolled up and tied. This way, all the pencils and their tips are always well protected. It’s also great to take along with you. And the pencil roll is washable, too. An ideal project for leftover cotton yarn. By the way, we have almost no ends to weave in ;-)

2 Colorful Little Buckets

A wonderful decoration for a child’s room or craft room. Hidden inside are 2 standard plastic yogurt buckets. They are prettily covered and from then on serve as decorative containers for pencils, rulers, brushes, etc.

Favorite Heart
This one is always a good idea. Simply crochet it small or large and give it to someone dear. You can also decorate it nicely, use it as a gift tag or keychain, or scent it with your favorite perfume and hang it in the closet as a scented heart.
