I haven’t been baking much lately, but I made some multigrain bread from a baking mix—it was really easy and turned out delicious. I have some other mixes from that company, so I’ll be trying those out little by little.

I haven’t baked in a year. My oven is broken, but it’s not worth it just for me anyway.

Marlies, what’s broken? My thermostat was broken, and because of COVID, I couldn’t buy a new one, so I had to bake by feel. Now we’ve found a thermostat online that you can just hang inside the oven—for only 11 euros—and I can bake everything again. Nothing burns anymore. 

Mine is apparently a total loss, according to my ex (electrician), Petra. When I turn it on, it blows the fuses. The glass-ceramic cooktop still works fine.
I have a chicken grill. I can bake in it too, but only small batches. It’s not worth it to bake just for myself.

Oh dear, I’d rather skip the oven too.

Yeah, when there are more people to share the cake with, baking is really more fun. We often freeze some so we have something to snack on every now and then.
