Dear users, dear authors,
Do you have favorite colors that you like to combine, or are there colors that you can combine or like to combine at all? Tell me about it.
For me, white/cream, blue, and red always work. It’s that nautical vibe. That “WollMeer” vibe.
But basically, my favorite color is “colorful,” and my color choices really depend on my mood. The only color I use very little is green.
Colors and me 😂😂😂
Well, I really like things that are colorful and bright. Drastic color contrasts—red, blue, green, yellow....
When I’m embroidering, I just go with my gut feeling about which color to use.... Then my daughters chime in: “What’s that all about? Those colors don’t go together at all—redesign it!” And yeah, I guess it works that way too, but I’d much rather have it colorful and bold 😂
I really love bright, bold colors, but I also really like classic nautical styles. Subtle beiges, grays, and the like just don’t work for me—brown is only for teddy bears—and I love shades of blue (including teal and turquoise) the most. And they go great with almost anything.
I really enjoy working with colorful combinations on most of my projects.
Since I have a very large color palette of cotton yarn in my stash, I often sit with lots of balls of yarn and try out beautiful color combinations. I’m often thrilled by the results.
I’m sure each of us has our own favorite color combinations. For me, there are three styles: either “girly colors”—white, light green, light pink, and hot pink—or something really colorful, which includes every color except black, brown, gray, and charcoal. Or I go for tone-on-tone, where everything is in subtle shades of the same color. But finding that is usually very difficult.
Nautical colors are, of course, a must for a girl from the coast. 😉
I like things to be colorful, but I also really like wearing black—either all black or mixed in with other colors.
Over the last two school years, I’ve had some adventurous color combinations (a yellow blouse, a green, hand-knitted miniskirt, and dark purple knee-high socks). A classmate said to me back then, “Ben, when I look at you, I go blind.” But he survived it just fine...
I’ve also knitted and crocheted colorful pieces for my daughter and little sisters.
