The hedgehog was chosen as Wild Animal of the Year 2024 because its population in Germany is steadily declining. In our cultivated landscapes, it simply can’t find enough habitat anymore. Modern robotic lawn mowers also endanger its life. That’s why I dedicated my first pattern this year to the hedgehog.

The Izzy the Hedgehog Hand Puppet has it easier than its relative in the wild: It only needs to be crocheted by you, and then its population in the children’s room is secured!

You can crochet this charming tea light with hearts quickly and easily using just a few scraps of yarn. A sweet gift or little present for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, or a birthday. Also great as a table decoration, e.g., for weddings.

My little dolls Anna and Anton have gotten winter clothes: Anton has a snowsuit and a bobble hat, and Anna has a winter coat, earmuffs, and a muff. The clothes also fit other 20-cm dolls.
