A jacket to match the dress...

I managed to get to it today—I had enough fabric left over to make a jacket :-) The pattern is the same as the one for the dress; there’s just nothing like a good basic pattern

Thanks, Veronika. I also learned pattern drafting during my training, so I can sew things from simple basic patterns. All you need is a little creativity, a vision of how you want it to look, and a love of sewing—then it’ll all work out :-)

Dear Inge, I, too, am a huge fan of your sewing skills and knowledge!

If only we could all sew like that, we could make clothes that fit perfectly, made from our favorite fabrics in our favorite colors. But in my opinion, that privilege is reserved only for trained seamstresses and dedicated professional and hobby seamstresses.

It’s a real profession—you can’t just do it as a hobby seamstress. There’s so much more to it than that. And in your case, you also have years of practical experience—plus the fact that you can exchange ideas with your daughter. You two learned it from the ground up—and that’s why you’re so perfect at it today! Enjoy your new sweatshirt dress and matching jacket.
