Sweater Patterns?

What are some common sweater patterns if you knit them yourself instead of buying them?
And how do you actually knit a Norwegian sweater?

Even though we get some sunshine here every now and then,
there are still plenty of opportunities to wear sweaters before summer arrives :)

Common... It depends on what you want ;) *grin*

For spring and summer, I go for pretty lace patterns; in fall and winter, I choose cable or Norwegian patterns.

I knit Norwegian sweaters in the Fair Isle style, which means I catch the floats as I knit, because I find the carried strands annoying, and this way you don’t get caught on them when you put the sweater on.
