Problem with a crochet pattern

Hi everyone,

I have a problem and hope you can help me.
Right now, I’m crocheting a sweater with a pattern that repeats over three rows (my first one of this kind). I have to crochet the same pattern 8 times across the length of the row. Everything’s going great so far, and the back piece is finished. 

For the front, the pattern says: “Work the front the same as the back, but with a neckline. To do this, after 50 cm = 45 rows from the starting edge, leave the middle 15 cm unworked and finish each side separately. For the curve at the inner edge, leave 1.5 cm unworked on every row 5 times. At the height of the back piece, finish the work with the remaining 13 cm on each side over the shoulder.”

I understand that 30 cm in the middle of the front piece won’t be crocheted later to accommodate the head. But each pattern repeat is about 6 cm wide and builds up row by row, including double crochets in the fourth stitch, etc.
How can you leave 1.5 cm uncrocheted there?

I don’t know if you can give me a general answer or if you need the exact pattern structure. But I’m a bit at my wit’s end :-(

It would be great if any of you had a tip for me.

thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I got the pattern from the magazine “Häkeltrends” and not from CrazyPatterns :-\/
Writing to the publisher probably won’t do much good...

I was hoping to get a general answer from experienced crocheters...

Oh well, I’ll just have to try out how it might work :-\/

that’s exactly why I “love” patterns like this—without pictures or further explanations—so much...
You’ll probably have to “break off” the pattern to leave the 1.5 cm unworked, and then start again in the next row at the point corresponding to where you “broke off.”
In other words: if you were supposed to crochet 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc in the 1st row of the pattern repeat and 2 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc in the 2nd row, but in the 1st row you only got as far as 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, you would work 1 hdc, 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc in the second row.
