Yarn cakes, gradient yarn, novelty yarn + scraps: time to get crafting

Do you have yarn cakes, gradient yarn, novelty yarn, and scraps? Then grab some matching patterns to help you relax.

A maximum of 3 patterns per author is enough. Don’t forget to include links, pictures, information, etc. All patterns featured here must have at least 10 sales or a conversion rate (CR) of at least 2% and must not have been featured in the forum within the past 3 weeks.

I like to use leftover effect yarn for my hand puppets to crochet elegant robes, decorate edges, or make hair from it.


Angel and Devil each wear a cloak crocheted from chenille yarn and edged with sponge yarn. The hair is made from curled bouclé yarn, which is also available as doll hair yarn.


The Princess wears a dress made from cotton yarn threaded with a glitter strand. Silver glitter yarn was crocheted for the lace edging and the crown. And the hair is made from thin, soft mohair yarn.



The King's robe is also crocheted from a glittery effect yarn, the cloak is again made from chenille, and the lace edging and crown are made from gold glitter yarn. For the hair and beard, I used plush yarn here.

I really like yarns where the color gradients come straight from the ball of yarn. That makes crocheting or knitting more fun and looks good, too. Feel free to take a look at my ideas for it.
