Dear users, dear authors,
do you have sock yarn / leftover sock yarn? Then you’ll find suitable patterns here.

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc. All patterns presented here must not have been advertised in the forum in the past 3 weeks, must have at least 10 sales and a CR of at least 3%.

You can knit a children's sweater very nicely from soft sock yarn. My granddaughter loves it very much, and it still fits her even at age 7. She received it when she was 5 years old.

The sweater is easy to knit and has no seams. The collar keeps the neck nice and warm, and the button placket at the front makes it comfortable to put on and take off.

This pretty knitted pair of pants for toddlers is also made from sock yarn. It has a pretty cable pattern on the sides. The straps and the cuff at the bottom ensure that the pants can grow along well—with toddlers from age 1.

Sock yarn is well-suited for doll clothes because it’s nice and thin. Sweater and pants for these fashion dolls were crocheted using sock yarn. The stitch pattern for the sweater practically creates itself.

Sock yarn was also used for these two sweaters and hats , though this time they were knitted. The sweaters are knitted as raglan sweaters from the top down, so the size can always be adjusted very easily. They fit both male and female dress-up dolls.

I like to knit or crochet doll clothes from sock yarn. Even the tiniest leftovers are enough to conjure up pretty doll clothes. Here are two examples.

I hope you have lots of fun making them.

Warm regards from Ina

Turtleneck sweater for small dolls

We knit it with a set of double-pointed needles as a top-down raglan in one piece. So there are no seams. The length is variable.

Poncho in various versions with hat

You can also work with sock yarn for this lovely project. I like to use yarn with a color gradient or with Lurex in it. The poncho can also be crocheted by crochet beginners.

My idea for using leftover sock yarn is a draft stopper. In these times when everyone is trying to save energy in some way, I think a draft stopper like this really makes a difference. Last winter, I placed one of these colorful pieces in front of my patio door and was pleasantly surprised—it actually kept the cold air out.
To knit it, I used all my 4-ply sock yarn scraps with a set of double-pointed needles. The more colorful, the better!! I worked with double strands and cast on 15 stitches per needle = 60 stitches total. Then knit in the round until the desired length is reached, bind off all stitches, and sew or crochet the ends together. Stuff the knitted tube with stuffing and close the other end in the same way. The advantage is that you can use up even the tiniest scraps, and the ends don’t need to be woven in since they’ll be hidden inside anyway.
