Pillow to go with the blanket

So the pillow is also knitted, and I really don’t have any yarn left over from those two beige balls—I still have a little bit of the red one, so we’ll see what I make of it :-)

That’ll be so cozy on your sofa. I’m sure it’ll look really harmonious all together. 

Inge, you sure were quick. The pillow looks really nice and fits perfectly. 

Is that a cover, or what did you use to stuff it?

This is a cover, and I sewed an inner lining for the pillow and filled it with stuffing, because feathers are deadly for me—they trigger suffocation attacks, and I’m extremely allergic to them.

That looks so nice and cozy—I don’t think I’d ever get off the sofa again!

You’re so hard at work, dear Inge. But since the big blanket came together so easily for you and the garter stitch pattern is so relaxing to knit, I understand why you knitted another pillow. Now you have a set and can get cozy on the couch with it.

By the way, I don’t use feather fillings either. That’s because you can’t wash the pillowcases then. Some washing machines and dryers can handle it, but I prefer washable fillings. The four pillows I gave away yesterday all have pillow inserts filled with microfiber balls that can even be boiled at 95 degrees. That’s very practical for kids’ pillows.
They were put to the test yesterday during a pillow fight. They’re also great for building forts :-)
