Yes, I really like it, but I don’t have any right now. I also like beautiful patterns—preferably photo prints—but it’s rare to find nice bedding like that.
Not really—it reminds me too much of my childhood. Back then, I probably had to use it mainly because it’s so easy to care for—whether that was because it was easy to wash or because it didn’t need to look ironed, I don’t remember anymore.
Nowadays, in my own household, we tend to use microfiber or cotton sateen. It’s okay if it gets wrinkled 😁
I don’t iron my bedding at all—not even the smooth kind. When it’s folded flat and stacked in the closet, it’s reasonably smooth on its own, and after the first night it’s totally wrinkled again anyway, so it doesn’t matter.
Veronika, my mom always used to say it smooths itself out. :-) And she had a very big household to manage, with 5 kids and a husband working three shifts.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of seersucker either—I stick to cotton or microfiber
I’m not a fan of seersucker. I feel the same way as notnadel. When the kids were little, we had seersucker bedding for everyone—it was affordable and good quality. But I don’t like it anymore. In winter, I need something warm—nothing beats Badizio for me—and in summer, something light made of cotton sateen or microfiber. It’s smooth, cooling, and breathable. And I don’t iron anything either.
I really like seersucker bedding, especially in the summer. On the other hand, I don’t like satin. I hardly ever iron anything—mainly tablecloths, but never bedding.
In the winter, I like flannel bedding or cozy microfiber.
Ina, I totally agree with you!
I don’t like seersucker at all. I think it always looks messy. I also prefer microfiber. In winter, I also like Badizio (Monika, that’s a plush microfiber) or Mont Chalet—it’s wonderfully cozy and warm. And in summer, a light, breathable microfiber.
Nothing gets ironed, but it doesn’t need to be. It always looks nice and smooth.
Ah, thanks, Ruth—we have those for winter, too. I love them.
That said, I actually prefer sleeping in natural fibers, especially in the summer. It has to be cotton.
Seersucker is generally made of pure cotton, woven to have a crinkled look.
Of course, that gives it an appearance that always makes you think it’s “unironed”… ;)
I can’t say whether it’s specifically for summer. For me, at least, that depends much more on the fabric itself.
In my opinion, it’s definitely not soft and cozy—that’s just because of the texture.
And I prefer things that are soft and cozy (I love flannel bedding)…
