Winter Wonderland December 2022

I’m so fascinated by our beautiful winter landscape with all the deep snow that I’d like to share it with you today. Unfortunately, the photos don’t do it nearly justice—it’s simply magical.

Unfortunately, it’s supposed to start raining here just before Christmas and warm up to 9 degrees. Then this beautiful winter dream will be a thing of the past for now. But until then, we’ll enjoy it.

Just like for Monika, it’s getting warmer here this week too. It’s supposed to rain today, and there’s a weather warning for black ice. That could be interesting, and I still have to go out to work today.

It’s -4 degrees and it’s raining.....
The roads are as slippery as glass. The tram isn’t running because the overhead wires are iced over. Because of that, my doctor’s appointment was canceled...
I’m not exactly thrilled.

Yes, it’s warmer here now, too—dark gray and rainy. It’s just wet now, but it must have been pretty slippery early this morning; we slept right through it, though.

It’s still beautifully covered in thick snow here. However, it started to thaw a bit today. On Wednesday, it’s supposed to start raining—and it’ll rain for days, even through Christmas. It’ll get warm then, and all the magic will be gone in an instant. But more snow is expected for New Year’s Eve. Let’s wait and see.

Have a great week—hopefully without any black ice, of course.

Here, there’s still a thin layer of snow (with patches missing) in our gardens, but luckily the streets are clear again and in great shape right now. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow…

It still looks so deeply snow-covered here. It’s thawing veeeery slowly, and I’m enjoying the view from our window. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to start raining and thawing tomorrow....

There’s no sign of winter here anymore.
Now it’s gloomy and rainy.
I heard the sparrows chirping loudly a little while ago—almost like it’s spring.
