Could you please post a link here and on Facebook indicating exactly where the photos should be uploaded? I think it would be best to post the photos on Facebook, because then they can be seen and reviewed by many people.

Hello Orimono,

I don’t think changing the rules "on the fly" is a good idea. The upload page is pretty intuitive, and you can’t really do much wrong. Choose an image, press the button - done ;- ).

Unfortunately, we’ve all been hit by a stomach bug. In the breaks, when I’m feeling halfway able, I answer your questions.

You shouldn’t expect too much from the first contest. As I said, we’ll do it better next time. After all, you can always do everything a little better :- ).

You can upload files using the following links:

Please don’t worry. Anyone who wants to take part will take part. Of course, you can join in too.

Best regards
Alexander

I’d love to make the pincushion, but unfortunately I don’t have the yarn, and I can’t find it here in town, so I’ll have to drive somewhere or order it.
Best regards, Hilde

Hi Hilde,

you can also crochet the pin cushion with a different yarn. It’ll turn out bigger, but my pattern is pretty small. Otherwise, the pattern also mentions that you can reduce the number of chain stitches, so it won’t end up too big. You start with a row of chain stitches, after all. Why not make a gauge swatch and see how long it turns out? Mine is about 10 cm long, but it’s a fiddly little project :) If you make it 12–15 cm, it’ll look really chic. The important thing here is that the number of chain stitches must be divisible by 5.

I’d love it if you joined in. Do you happen to have any potholder yarn, school yarn, or something similar lying around? That’s size 3, and then use a slightly thicker hook (size 2 or 2.5)

Waving, Nici

P.S.: I got the yarn I used here from MacGeiz. They have large skeins of crochet yarn in several colors at great prices, and I really enjoy working with it. Just a tip for everyone else ;)

Thank you
I have quite a bit of crochet yarn and TolaGarn, but I can’t tell the weight of the crochet yarn.
Then I’ll get started.
Best regards, Hilde

Hilde, I’m glad. Please note what I wrote in the other thread. A mistake had crept into the images in the pattern :) Please download it again before you get started. And you’ll end up with 11 shell blocks, not 10 :)

Thanks, I noticed it, but I didn’t think it was that serious - or will it no longer be correct later?
Best regards, Hilde

"If you have one more or one fewer shell block, it’s no big deal - it’ll just turn out bigger or smaller :D The images were important because they were totally misleading, and the actual images had slipped further down :)"

Thanks, I’ve saved it again. So now I’m heading out to the balcony to soak up some sun and get started.

Hi Nici,

I received a message today with the following text:

There’s a mistake right at the beginning of the pattern for the “Rose” pincushion. If you chain 55 stitches to start, you won’t end up with 10 shell-shaped blocks — you’ll end up with 11!

This has probably already been resolved. Could you please check it?

Thanks and best regards
Alexander

That was the latest update :) that you just approved. I still haven’t figured out why my pattern only has 10 blocks. When I got the note and revised it again, I also ended up with 11 and changed it right away :) Thanks

@ Hilde, unfortunately, not everyone sees it as casually as you do... and I’ve been thinking about it.

I’ll certainly draw my own conclusions from this experience. *waves* Nici

Nici, I think there are worse things than whether it’s 10 or 11.
I’ve bought magazines before where the patterns had mistakes—there was an old saying where I’m from: “Even a priest doesn’t take it that seriously.”
Thanks again for the pattern—I’ll be making this often; it’s such a nice gift for some people.
So now I’m going to add the picture to my album right away.
Best wishes, Hilde

@Nici: Don’t worry—it’ll all work out.
If you never make mistakes, you probably never do anything at all.
And you did post an update afterward.
So hopefully everything will turn out fine.

@nici, I finished my pincushion this morning and I’m really happy with it... I did have a few difficulties at first, but with a little tinkering, you can figure it out. I thought the idea and the pattern were really great, and I’m thinking of using the basic pattern for a new project... Once I’ve finished the prototype and am happy with it, I’ll post it here too :-) I hope that’s okay. Best regards, Angi
