Hello Alexander,
first of all: I’m fairly active in several FB forums about crochet, amigurumi, etc.
I’ve also set myself two goals for this year:
1. to design one new animal per week on average
2. to organize one campaign per month via my FB “fan page.”
This month’s campaign is:
Crochet contest.
It is planned as follows:
Next Monday (March 17), I will send the pattern for an animal that will remain unknown until Sunday (March 16) to all participants free of charge. It’s a completely new animal—so not a recycling of one of my old animals. The animal is de facto still unknown, since so far it doesn’t even exist on paper. So it will be a surprise for all participants—and somehow for me, too.
The participants will then have about 2 weeks (until March 30) to crochet their animal. There are no limits to their creativity. They can vary it until the yarn bursts or the hook starts smoking. By March 30, each participant should then send a picture of their animal (as I said: one picture—not a whole photo album) to
streifgetier@web.de. I will then publish the photos in a folder created especially for this on
https://www.facebook.com/streifgetier. After that, I will send the participant the link to their picture.
Then each participant has until April 7 at 6:00 PM to drum up support for themselves and their work. How and where they do that—I don’t care :-) The little animal that has the most “likes” on April 7 at 6:00 PM wins :-)
Of course there is also something to win. For one thing, everyone is somehow a winner because they get to call a new little animal their own :-) But of course there are also “real” prizes
1st prize: 3 patterns of your choice
2nd prize: 2 patterns of your choice
3rd prize: 1 pattern of your choice
The patterns can then be chosen from my pool—that is, streifgetier’s pool.
That’s my crochet contest in a nutshell.
I’ve been carrying this idea around for a while, and now I wanted to tackle it. I actually wanted to do it a bit earlier—but someone else beat me to it, and I didn’t want to be in “competition” with another contest. :-)
Best regards,
Petra
