Color Changes in Spiral Rounds for Amigurumi

Good day,

I'm a little at a loss. I've started crocheting again and am making small figures (amigurumi), but color changes are driving me crazy. I think I'm actually doing it right... I know that can't really be the case then :) maybe someone with more experience has a tip for me about what could be wrong here. I do the color change as follows: the last stitch of the old color is finished with the new color (I hope the wording is right here), so you have two loops on the hook and pull the new color through...

Attached is a photo of my crochet piece and what the pattern looks like. The transition from white to brown can't be right like this :/ maybe the mistake is somewhere else, but I just don't understand where. On the right side it still looks more or less okay, but on the left side there isn't a diagonal transition like in the original
I would be grateful for any tips

I’d recommend contacting the author of the pattern. They’ll surely be able to help you. Since the pattern isn’t from our shop, I can’t contact the author on your behalf.

Of course, I can’t say anything about the pattern itself, but at first glance, it looks to me like you might have simply miscounted somewhere. The color change is done correctly, but something else isn’t quite right.

I can’t say anything about the pattern because I don’t know what it’s going to be. 😃😉

The last stitch is finished with the new color.  
If you don’t know this method, give it a try. 😀

Oh, I didn’t know about the picture—or rather, I hadn’t thought about it...

@sina I think that’s what I’m doing... for example, 5 stitches in red, then 3 in white according to the pattern—that makes 4 red ones, and on the 5th, I put 2 red loops on the hook and then pull the white yarn through them. That’s what you mean, right?

  @veronika Yeah, probably, but I’m really trying my best to do everything right and I’m even counting the stitches… Any tips for spiral rounds?
I always try to mark the “start of the round”… but it doesn’t seem to be working very well :'(

it would be good if you could ask the author of the pattern, because no one here in the thread is the author of the pattern, and only the author of the pattern can help you best. 

Yeah, that’s exactly what I meant 

There are plastic round markers you can attach to the start of the round, but a paperclip works just as well. It holds on pretty well, and you won’t miss the start anymore.

When changing colors in spiral rounds, there’s always a slight “slant.” But the one in the photo is too extreme for that. Especially since the white spot on the left looks correct.
