Sweet, soft stuffed animals are always a hit with children—even when they’re a bit older! Then they’re simply used as good-luck charms, mascots, or just decorative objects. (And when nobody’s watching, they still get cuddled😉)
The Sleeping Little Lamb
can be made as a music box for babies if you use suitably thick yarn for it. The lamb shown was made with Phil douce by Phildar, a plush, soft yarn. You really can’t tell that the lamb was crocheted. But so that the stitches are still visible while crocheting, I use a strand of accompanying yarn in a similar color at the same time. Of course, you can also make the lamb with “regular” yarn.
Alpaca Pamina
is also crocheted from plush cuddly yarn while using a strand of accompanying yarn in a similar color at the same time. The muzzle, ears, and hooves are made from thin chenille yarn, while the bridle and saddle are crocheted from colorful cotton. With this yarn, Pamina measures about 25 cm tall.
The Black Cat
is very simple and minimalist and is crocheted with black cotton yarn following a counting chart. It also makes a great decorative object, e.g., for Halloween. The silhouette is made twice, then crocheted together with single crochet stitches and filled with toy stuffing. The bright green eyes are a special focal point.
