Safety Eyes/Noses for Amigurumi

Quick question: How do you attach them? I guess I have to stuff the head first to figure out roughly where they should go, right? 

The safety eyes are inserted from the back like stud earrings, so you need to know where you want them to go beforehand.
Or you can use these sew-on eyes—in that case, you finish the head first.

Many patterns specify where the eyes should go. If not, the only thing to do is experiment a little. I stuff the head very lightly and insert the safety eyes temporarily. Only when I’m satisfied do I mark the spots, remove the stuffing again, and attach the eyes securely.
