You can knit this children’s sweater made from sock yarn very easily while watching TV, except for a few small sections. It has no seams. The body is knitted straight up, and the sleeves are picked up from the side stitches and knitted on.

The sweater fits 4- to 5-year-old toddlers and keeps them nice and warm, even around the neck thanks to the knitted-on collar. The sock yarn gives it a pretty, unique pattern.

When it gets cooler in the evening but you don’t want to turn up the heat yet, you can keep warm with a heat pillow like this. Put the inner pillow in the microwave for a few minutes, then place it back into the cover. The pillow will then radiate a cozy warmth. Thanks to the different textures on the front and back (popcorn stitch pattern and single crochet), you can control how much heat is released to your body.
The popcorn stitch pattern is very easy to crochet. The increases are worked very regularly, so you don’t have to count much. For the material, I recommend pure cotton, which is the most heat-resistant, e.g. potholder yarn. For a heart-shaped pillow measuring 20 x 20 cm, you’ll need about 100 g of potholder yarn.

I like wearing these little cowls in spring or at the office when the cooler days return.

This pattern is worked over just one round, so you can comfortably crochet round after round in the evening. 
With a yardage of 285 m, my cowl had a height of 24 cm and a width of 30 cm.
