Unfortunately, I don’t, because in our region of Middle Franconia, the Protestant population is usually in the majority 😔…..My son, on the other hand, lives near Ingolstadt and will be enjoying the holiday tomorrow. Have fun, everyone who has the day off tomorrow! 🍧 🍹⛱
I really had to grin because of tomorrow’s holiday: my son-in-law works at a company in Würzburg, so very Catholic, and my daughter works in the public sector in Kitzingen, so she has to work. :-)))
So my son-in-law is bringing the grandchild up here for a week of vacation. In our village, which was once a free imperial village, the shops are open too, because the free imperial towns and villages here in Main-Franconia were Protestant.
Only where the population is predominantly Catholic is it a holiday in Bavaria and Saarland; otherwise it isn’t anywhere else in Germany.
We have a public holiday today—I only really realized it this morning when I was about to put the trash bin out. As retirees, these things somehow just pass us by.
