Blanket with an owl pattern—e.g., as a picnic blanket

Winter is actually coming to an end
but I just noticed that while there are a few blankets in the shop
none of them have an owl pattern on them
so the owl craze hasn’t quite reached that far yet? ;)
Would it be too complicated to incorporate an owl pattern into a blanket?
I’m not a complete beginner at crocheting, but I wouldn’t feel confident enough to incorporate an owl into the pattern on my own.
I’d need a pattern for that.
And I wouldn’t be able to manage knitting or sewing at all—probably not even with a pattern.

Would it be very time-consuming and labor-intensive to create a pattern like that?
I mean, blankets made from lighter material can be useful in summer too.
For evenings, or as a picnic blanket when you’re out with the kids or in the garden
I could imagine there might be quite a few sales if the yarn is light enough for summer
and I think it should be easy to wash, too. Grass stains and stuff.

I mean, there are those color-catching sheets you throw in the washing machine so nothing bleeds during the wash, so that shouldn’t really be a problem.

What do you guys think?

I mean, I think there’s definitely a market for picnic blankets, and if someone starts creating the pattern now, the timing would be just right—then the craft-loving ladies could still get the blanket done before summer, if we even get one, really kicks off :)

I couldn’t just pass this by :-). You could take a square like this with an owl on it and make all kinds of things out of it... even a blanket ;-).
