When I think of “Comfort for the Soul,” the first thing that comes to mind is the person I’m giving a little crocheted gift to. The thought of how happy the recipient will be fills me with such anticipation that I, too, can take my mind off my problems and worries while working on it.

Children, in particular, often need a little “comfort buddy.”

Kuschel, the Warm Bear
can be just such a little comfort. His belly is filled with a grain pillow that you’ve warmed up in the microwave for a few minutes beforehand. Then Kuschel helps with stomachaches and tension, or when you come in from the cold in winter. His head and paws are crocheted from soft plush yarn, making the little bear perfect as a cuddly toy in all kinds of situations.


A Guardian Angel Nightlight
is a great comfort for all children who are afraid to fall asleep in the dark. The angel isn’t hard to crochet at all. It sits atop an LED light. You can control its brightness with a remote control so that it emits just enough light to ensure healthy sleep isn’t disturbed.
