Dear users, dear designers,
has anyone bought beautiful yarn / fabrics / materials? Do you already have a project for them?
If you would like to show your swap-yarn projects, you can do so in this thread:
Swap package - these creations came from it

Yes, me. I found this gorgeous unicorn yarn with glitter at T..i. It’s nice and soft despite the glitter thread, and pretty thin.
I’d like to crochet an RVO sweater out of it (pattern from here). I’ll use the thin pink swap yarn for the contrasting stripes.
This is as far as I’ve got so far

@Andrea,
I’m glad you’re having fun with a new project.
Unfortunately, I had to remove the image because you don’t have the rights to it.
I’d love to see a photo of your finished sweater.
It’s off to a promising start.

I ordered some yarn for my new project (I’m not revealing it just yet). The colors always look different on the screen when I’m ordering. I like a few of them in real life, but a few will probably end up in the next yarn swap package.

Best regards, Ina

Oh, sorry, Josefa. Now I understand. Is it okay to post the link to that sweater page here?

Ina, you’ve ordered some gorgeous colors there. I like them too (except for the green and dark gray).
I’m curious to see what you’ll make with them.

@Andrea,
I know you mean well, but authors are only allowed to promote their products where it’s permitted. If more and more product links keep popping up in casual chat threads, advertising will soon be everywhere, so it would be great if you could avoid linking to products.

Haven’t bought anything yet… but I’ve already been browsing to see which yarn to get.
It’s for a summer top; now I’m hoping I’ll be able to get the yarn at the local yarn shop here… I got a gift card for my birthday 😍

No, so far I’ve stayed strong and am only using yarn I already have. But it’s definitely hard for me. I saw some great yarn last week for a shawl................ But it was Sunday, and thank goodness the store was closed

I redeemed the gift card I won for this yarn.
It’s going to be a soul warmer.

No, I’m also practicing restraint when it comes to buying fabric, because I still have lots of that sponsored fabric lying around that I need to use up first

But I’m already eyeing a lovely fabric for a pair of wide-leg summer pants; we’ll see if I can stay strong, because I actually have enough pants for the summer

Best regards, Inge

I agree. By the time I’ve worked through what’s stockpiled here, I’ll be mummified. And since there aren’t any stores nearby, I’m also well protected from impulse buys.

Dear Veronika, Thanks to the internet, you’re never safe from impulse buys. Eventually, you’re bound to give in—and the internet is open 24 hours a day :-)
But for now, my purchase has me well-stocked, and I’ve satisfied that craving for the time being.

I hope you all have a pleasant Sunday afternoon.
Best regards, Ina

Ina, I agree with you; online you have the chance to browse 24 hours a day, then there are the ads and so on and so on.....swapping, bidding, and sometimes a spontaneous purchase in a shop.
I’m also pretty well stocked at the moment and need to use up a bit of what I have. But since I also really like this Alize yarn, I often look in the online shop to see what’s new there; I like your colors too, but no, I’m going to write a little more here now, then I’ll turn off the laptop, nothing is getting bought today.
Wishing you all a sunny Monday
Best regards, Ines

Hi everyone,

I was actually planning to use up some of my yarn stash, but I still needed the right yarn for a project. I just couldn’t resist.

What nice thing are you making with it, Andrea?

Well, I’ve stayed strong so far and haven’t bought any fabric, because when I took a closer look through my closet, I came across a pair of pants that I had wanted to buy the above-mentioned fabric for :-))) So I saved money again :-) I still have plenty of fabric lying around for smaller projects, especially since I’m reworking quite a few of my own things

Best regards, Inge

Hey Josefa,

I have several projects planned for this yarn.
I still needed the yellow for a duck, as well as for a crocheted Mickey Mouse (haven’t started it yet).
I bought the colorful skein as a backup for the RvO sweater I’ve already started.

I haven’t been able to do much crocheting lately (I’m always so tired after work).

Hope you all have a great start to the new week!

Andrea, I really like your colors… they’re like a sunset.

I’ve stayed strong and haven’t bought anything since March. But it’s definitely hard for me. I always have the wrong yarn, the wrong colors, or not enough of a certain yarn at home for my new ideas.

Over the weekend, I found a beautiful pattern for a new shawl—but I don’t have the right yarn at home. For a new blanket—I don’t have enough yarn at home for that either. For a baby jacket—I don’t have the right yarn for that. So now I’m making a hat with that pattern. I have plenty of individual skeins, though.

Thanks, Josefa and Petra.

I have the day off tomorrow, but I still have to make a birthday card for my mom and wrap a gift—if everything arrives on time today.
But then it’s back to crocheting. After all, I need space for the next yarn swap package.

I basically HAD to buy some new yarn because it occurred to me that I’d like to knit a warm turtleneck sweater for my best friend for Christmas. She always gets cold easily, and with the fall/winter forecasts… well, you know. You need something warm to wear. Luckily, she’s only a size S, so hopefully I’ll have enough yarn.

I was able to get the yarn (“Mezzo” by Lana Grossa) at a discount online because, unfortunately, it’s no longer being produced. I think that’s such a shame, because it’s really soft and doesn’t itch at all. Do you see those beautiful, vibrant colors? Every skein looks different, even though it’s the same color number. I’m really excited to see how it looks once it’s knitted up.

Best regards, Ina

No, I still haven’t bought any fabric, because I still have a box of summer clothes I’ve set aside that I can or would like to rework. The heart today used to be a summer skirt too.

Best regards, Inge

No, I’ve stayed strong and am still using yarn from my stash.

I’ve just started knitting a sweater. I’m so excited to see how it turns out. I absolutely love the color. My daughter picked it out for a poncho once, and now I’m knitting up the remaining skeins.
