In my suitcase, I’m packing......

just a little bit of yarn this time. I’ve dug out some UFOs and only a tiny bit of new (well-aged) yarn. 



This shawl has been sitting around for a few years now. I’m halfway through it and didn’t know how to decrease. Now I have an idea and want to give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll rip it out. 



This half-finished shawl is definitely going to be unraveled. I already have a new idea. 



I plan to turn it into dishcloths with a new pattern—the gift box needs to be restocked. 



I’ll be making spiral socks again with the Regia yarn—test knitting for the pattern—and I’d like to crochet some liners from the cotton.

And of course, I’m taking my current shawl with me too; I’m about 75% done with it.

I wonder what I’ll manage to finish?

What and how much do you usually pack in your suitcase when you go on vacation? 

We’re spending our vacation at home this year, since we can’t take our cats and rabbit with us. That would be far too stressful for our three pets.

A few day trips are possible with the ticket.

Thanks, Gabi. Yes, it’s not so easy with pets. I also had to find someone for the turtles. Thank goodness my friend drops by once a day - counts them and feeds them. 

We also want to get that ticket. We’ll take some short trips in the area, and then we’ll also spend the next vacation days at home in July and August.

I always used to read more on vacation, but I’d always bring enough yarn for a pair or two of socks, too.
Now that we can’t travel anymore, I just do whatever I feel like—after all, I have everything I need right here.

That’s how it’ll be for us too, Veronika—day trips starting from home. Since we’re located relatively centrally in the middle of Germany, there are plenty of places where you really don’t have to drive far to see something different—and as retirees, we’re on vacation all year round anyway ;-) :-) I don’t have a ticket, because I have the token for my disability ID card; with that, I can travel by bus and train within a radius of about 50 km, and one person can accompany me too.
Although I’d love to go back to the island of Sylt, that’s not really an option for the beach with a walker. There are wheels available for it, but a set costs a small fortune.
