It’s stuffed with soft, flame-resistant stuffing, and the fur is long-pile plush—a donation from a good friend of mine, just like all the fabrics I’ve been working with lately.

Does the long-haired plush shed, or is the fur robust/securely attached?

They are ultimately a woven fabric. Next time you’re in a fabric store, take a look at the back of plush fabric.

I took a picture of the fabric—if you look closely, you can see the back pretty well. It’s not always easy to photograph a white background; you can also see the selvedge of the plush fabric.

Unfortunately, I don’t know that either. I only know that with terry cloth or velvet, the pile is cut and then trimmed to the pile length. It’s also been ages since I had those school lessons, meaning the specialized classes.
