You were really busy back then 

Oh wow, now that’s what I call a big collection. It’s unbelievable how quickly you finished them all.

That really is an impressive collection. Many of the dolls look familiar to me—like the three dolls with glasses on their noses, which are supposed to represent your daughters. My favorites are the “Pumuckl dolls” with the orange hair. Especially the Pumuckl with the bright yellow shirt—I’d adopt him in a heartbeat. He has beautiful eyes and that bright orange hair.

Inge, your dolls are just great! With the embroidered eyes, they really look alive.

I once sewed a doll for my granddaughter, a Waldorf doll. She actually only played with stuffed animals—she completely ignored dolls. I thought maybe it would be different with a soft cloth doll, but unfortunately, it shares the same fate as the others. It does sit on the shelf in the kids’ room as decoration, but she only plays with stuffed animals:

Ruth, don’t worry about it, my youngest granddaughter isn’t much into dolls either; she prefers playing with the electric train set she once got from my husband. :-) But she has loads of teddy bears and the like, and plays with them too
