Now it’s finally getting sunny and warm! So I’m putting this weekend’s crochet projects under the theme “
Animals in Our Garden”. You can make them all with leftover yarn.
Little Bee Hanny
keeps a close eye on her honey. She is crocheted from black and yellow plush yarn. To make the stitches easy to see while working, a thin cotton thread is crocheted along at the same time—and here’s the clever part: a yellow thread with the black plush yarn and a black thread with the yellow plush yarn. You won’t see it in the end, but it helps tremendously while crocheting.
Hedgehog Ingo
has already woken up from hibernation too and is busily going after the snails in the garden. Ingo is crocheted from soft, thin chenille yarn. The spines are very soft because they are made from eyelash yarn. With the thin chenille yarn, Ingo will be about 14 cm tall. If you prefer to use thick chenille yarn, he will be almost twice as big. In that case, you should also use the eyelash yarn doubled.
Robin
also feels right at home in our garden and chirps a cheerful little song in the branches. To crochet the robin, just a few leftovers in brown, beige, orange, and gray are enough. If you’re not quite ready to crochet with several colors at the same time, you can also crochet the little bird in one color. Then it will simply become a sparrow or a blackbird!
