In these times, everyone has to save money. Nothing gets thrown away anymore—and certainly not yarn! And what can you conjure up from it? Plenty. Here are a few ideas from me. For more pictures, information, and the pattern, please simply click on the headings.
Insoles made from leftover felting wool
You can easily make these yourself from leftover felting wool or leftover yarn with a high wool content (make a felting sample first). A template for the shoe sizes is included in the pattern. The soles keep your feet warm and make your step soft. Ideal for clogs, rubber boots, or any shoes where you want them to be softer and warmer.
Colorful craft bucket
Here you can use all your colorful leftover yarn. You can make the practical craft bucket with lots of compartments in different sizes. Your tools go in the compartments, and your current craft project goes in the bucket. That way you’re always well equipped and mobile.
Leather soles for felted shoes
Anyone who has ever made felted shoes knows that they are very slippery. That’s why the sole needs to be made non-slip: either with liquid rubber, or by sewing a leather sole underneath. With a leather sole, the shoes last 4 times longer than without. You can make the leather soles yourself from an old leather jacket. The template for the shoe size is included.
