I’m in the middle of a sewing phase right now. I’m currently sewing myself a hoodie and trying out a few things—piping on the hood, faux piping for the raglan seams—which actually worked out pretty well.
Then I thought about adding an appliqué, but I need to practice turning the fabric at right angles some more:

When turning the fabric, always leave the needle in the fabric; only raise the presser foot once the needle is in the fabric. That way, you can turn the fabric in whatever direction works best for sewing. This also helps you get the corners right. Appliqué scissors are also useful for neatly trimming any loose threads that stick out; otherwise, your appliqué attempt wasn’t bad at all.

Best regards, Inge

Crochet, crochet, crochet. My sister and my mom have birthdays in early March. I started working on the shawl for my sister yesterday. For my mom, I’m thinking of making a vest or a jacket. I can never decide what to make, so I always end up rushing at the last minute. But I think I’ll still manage to finish it in time.

Right now, crocheting is definitely my favorite, but I also have patterns and supplies for knitting and sewing at home, just in case my mood changes.
I really don’t like feeling rushed—one of the knitted items is going to be a gift, but I won’t need it until August.
Sewing is always the most work, because I don’t have a sewing room and have to set everything up on the dining table (and—depending on how it’s used—clear it away right away, or at least push it to the side).

A dedicated hobby room would probably be a dream for everyone. You could keep all your treasures neatly organized in one place and wouldn’t have to put the sewing machine away. I’m lucky enough to have our attic for that purpose.

Right now, I’m knitting away for our new grandchild, who we’re expecting in early March. In between, though, I still have to squeeze in a few pairs of felted boots with my friend Andrea. Her house and her office are both freezing. Right now, she’s constantly lugging her felt boots back and forth. That’s why she needs a second pair. But her birthday is already on February 21—and the yarn isn’t even here yet. It seems like everyone’s under a time crunch. But it’s still fun!

Best regards, Ina

Right now, I’m crocheting again :)
But I also have plenty of sewing projects in mind that I want to tackle.

By the way, I do have a “hobby room.”
Still, I don’t leave fabric and yarn lying around there because I have cats, and everything would end up covered in cat hair—if they didn’t destroy it first :D

Right now I’m knitting, but sewing is still my top priority. That is and always will be my passion😁😆

I've just "discovered" paper and am currently crafting... 3D models out of paper 😇
I've already finished two dragons... They're 60 cm tall...

They're both hanging in my "room" 😇
On the side, I'm still knitting my sweater... crocheting is really hard for me right now, but hopefully that will change again soon.....

Oh wow, those dragons are amazing. Where can I find a pattern for them?

You can find patterns online... just search for “papercraft”...
They’re set up like those craft sheets that used to be in various kids’ magazines...

I’m really passionate about knitting. Crocheting comes in second. Back when my son was little, I used to sew a lot. And I could see myself taking that up again someday. Though I’d need days with twice as many hours for that. ;-)

For me, it’s knitting. Closely followed by crocheting, freehand embroidery, and sewing.

Here’s an example of sewing and embroidery: upcycling a jeans pocket. Before Christmas, I put fir branches in it; on Christmas Eve, it became a napkin and cutlery pouch.

I’m currently setting up my new sewing room :).
I’m also working on new sewing patterns for a children’s cardigan, bags, and more. Plus, I’m sewing a whole bunch of hoodies right now :D

Best regards,
Sonja

My absolute passion is crocheting, but unfortunately I can’t keep up with everything I’d love to crochet.
Sitting and doing crafts for too long isn’t all that healthy for the body either; I always end up getting back pain.
Since I inherited two sewing machines, I’ll start looking into that too as soon as I have time. Then I’ll also have to decide which one I’ll keep and which one I’ll give away. When I was younger, I sewed quite a bit; I just hope I haven’t forgotten everything.

@ Woll-zauberei-steffi the 2 dragons turned out really great
