Putting the finishing touches on my homemade Christmas gift

Hi everyone,

I’m currently wrapping Christmas gifts, eating gingerbread, and drinking some wonderful tea. I’m also listening to Christmas carols… do you remember “Guten Abend schön Abend” sung by the Rundfunk Kinderchor? (YouTube has everything.) It’s sung so enchantingly.

While wrapping the felt booties I made for my friend Andrea, I realized I hadn’t personalized them yet. Since Andrea runs a practice offering relaxation classes, she naturally has a favorite saying. And I just sewed it onto her little boots. That way, everyone can read it and take it to heart.

Yes, that’s too bad, dear Ruth. But a steady gait is more important than the prettiest shoes. That’s just how it is as you get older. On the other hand, you have such beautiful, thick hair that many women envy you for. And you’re pretty, too. If I were looking for a model over 50, I’d choose you. Just think of your lovely summer sweater with the color gradient…—who’s even looking at your feet anyway? :-)
