Dear users, dear authors,
pink hair seems to be in right now, and so does adding, for example, black chunky highlights to light hair. Would you like to try this too, or is it not really your thing?
Well, I don’t want to walk around looking like a parrot or a zebra. I dyed my hair for years (though only my natural chestnut brown) because I started going gray at 30. I stopped doing that three years ago and now have “silver hair.” At first, I had to get used to it—not so much the gray itself, but the fact that I suddenly had light hair. I’d always seen myself as the dark-haired type. But now I’m very happy with it, and it’s much more practical than constantly dyeing my hair.
My daughter used to dye her hair all kinds of wild colors when she was a teenager—once she showed up with green hair and half her head shaved. But thankfully, those phases are over now.
I like colorful hair, but noticeable roots would bother me. I steer clear of pink, rose, and pastel shades—not just on my head.
Instead, I occasionally dye my hair turquoise-green; without pre-lightening, it turns into a subtle dark green on me and washes out over time.
If it didn’t take so long, I’d do it more often.
I like people with brightly colored hair—whether it’s blue, green, pink, or whatever...
Personally, I’ve only dared to go for a really bright, vibrant red so far.
And from light blonde to veeeery dark brown—everything nature has to offer :)
When I was around 18–20, I always dyed my hair myself… Which sometimes went horribly wrong.
My personal worst experience was when I tried to bleach my hair and didn’t realize there was still some red dye underneath my last brown color (yeah, I used to dye my hair veeeery often back then…)
Well—the result was an 8 cm long light-blonde root and, from there down, bright orange :D
(So I can be eye-catching, too ;))
To be honest, I personally don’t like these block highlights at all.
It kind of looks like it was done on purpose but not very well, in my opinion…
But that’s just a matter of taste, too :)
Pink hair and a peacock feather up your backside, and the crazy fool is complete—that’s what my father used to say to us 50 years ago :-))))) Because even back then, people had colorful hair, and even earlier in the ’70s too—so it’s nothing new.
Once you hit 70, there’s no need to dye your hair anyway—nature takes care of that, and not even badly. Back in the day, I tried everything the color palette had to offer, from light blonde to red to coal black, highlights in blonde and gray—every hair color—but I always ended up going back to my original color for longer periods.
