If you want to crochet toys for children yourself, you’ll find a wealth of patterns for them in my shop.
1. Cuddly toys
One especially sweet example is
Heart Bear

With his pink fur, heart-shaped eyes, paw prints, ears, and nose, he is just the right thing for romantic little girls! He will be about 25 cm tall. Perfect for cuddling!

A cozy, warm cuddle buddy is this sweet
Warming Bear. He has a zipper on the belly side so you can fill him with a warmed grain pillow. This way he helps with tummy aches and all kinds of tension, and warms up the little bed on cold nights.

Cuddly Cat Mauzi is especially suitable as a baby’s first cuddly toy. She is crocheted from three kinds of yarn: thin chenille yarn for the head, tail, and paws, and cotton yarn and teddy yarn for the body. Since the body is crocheted with double crochet, working with the teddy yarn is no problem here, because the double crochet stitches are easy to feel.

Another truly cuddly toy to love is
Alpaca Pamina. It is best crocheted from teddy yarn too. You’ll find tricks and tips for this in the pattern.

2.
A fun board game for the whole family:

Mouse Hunt!Playing with the cute little cats and mice on the self-crocheted game board is especially fun. The rules for the game are included in the pattern. But you can also change them entirely to suit your needs. After all, it’s a game you created yourselves. So the mice don’t necessarily have to be placed on the black squares; you might also allow diagonal moves, etc. Just agree on the rules beforehand so there won’t be any arguments afterward!
3. Trains

Who wouldn’t have loved playing with a
train as a child? This crocheted version is not only a wonderful decorative piece, but also and above all suitable for little ones for whom an electric train is still too challenging. This crocheted train is sturdy and can handle anything. It is even washable if it “accidentally” ends up in the sandbox. Small dolls (e.g., Playmobil figures) can ride along in its cars and locomotive. The cars are coupled together with hook-and-loop fasteners.
If a whole train is too much for you to crochet, you might start by crocheting just the
Locomotive Emmy.
4. Hand puppets
Kindergarten and elementary school children love
hand puppets. If you crochet them yourself, you can give them completely individual character traits and create very personal puppets for your children. Crocheted hand puppets also don’t feel as heavy on the hand as puppets with wooden heads, and they can withstand much more, (when things get really wild in the puppet theater.
Here is a small selection of my hand puppets:
Kasperl
Crocodile
Princess
Police Officer
Robber
Rainbow Fairy

5. Finger puppets
Even smaller children may have more fun with
finger puppets, because they can handle them more easily. With just a few leftover yarn scraps, you can crochet truly enchanting little finger puppets. They’re always popular small gifts to bring when you visit a household with children.
Examples of finger puppets:
5 Farm Animals
Jungle Animals
Christmas Figures

6. Hobby horse

For all children who love to romp around:
Hobby Horse Unicorn Violetta! Since Violetta is crocheted from cuddly soft yarn and the “stick” is also very soft (because it is made from a pool noodle), no one can get hurt here, and furniture and dishes stay intact too, no matter how wildly everyone rides around.
7. For the play kitchen:
And finally, something for the
play kitchen or the children’s pretend grocery store:
Vegetable Basket with 10 Types of Vegetables
Fruit Crate with 12 Types of Fruit
Small Berry Basket
