Here are a few more items for our kids' charity drive: a Schildi—I used up some leftover yarn to make it—so it’s a super-soft little pillow, and a set consisting of a sweater and a beanie

That turtle is so cute! Do you have any patterns for it, or did you just come up with it on your own?

There used to be a pattern for this, but please don’t ask where it came from—it’s been sitting in my printed pattern folder for stuffed animals for way too long.

Thanks, girls! I’ve been sewing for our children’s food bank for 10 years now. The boss always wants to call the press when I drop off the items, but I tell him every time, “No press”—that’s not why I do it. I don’t need the press; I just want to help make things better for some children. After all, I can’t save or help every child in the world anyway, but I can make a few of them happy—at least for a few moments. My dad always said a child’s little hand fills up so quickly, so I do my part to make sure that’s the case.

Oh, that’s so nice, dear Inge—making kids happy is so important.
And I really admire your sewing skills; I’d love to be able to do that too, but I don’t think I have the talent for it. But maybe with more practice, I could get the hang of it—practice makes perfect, after all :-)
