Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you. My husband and I are making ourselves comfortable at home, since running is out of the question for me once again. My back and hips are acting up badly again.
To sweeten up our weekend, a nut cake is baking in the oven right now.
I’ve been looking forward since spring to getting an extra hour of sleep 😜 — I miss that all summer.
The first anniversary of my father-in-law’s death is tomorrow, and on All Saints’ Day afternoon there is a memorial service..... My mother always wanted us to visit the graves on All Saints’ Day, but I think you can do that throughout the year.
Today the sun is shining beautifully, and the colorful trees are glowing so beautifully. I kind of missed that a bit in Norway.
Today we’re invited to my cousin’s place for a belated birthday party, and tomorrow at noon we’re having lunch at my parents’ house.
Monday is the big day—my first day at work. I’m already nervous, but I’m looking forward to it.
It’s also a holiday in Rhineland-Palatinate, and I have two weeks of vacation.
I hate the time change, even though switching to standard time is better than switching to daylight saving time. All this unnecessary clock-turning needs to be abolished once and for all! It’s pure poison for the body’s internal system.
And today is Halloween, so we won’t be opening the door because of COVID-19. The neighbors have set up a gruesome murder scene; I find it very distasteful.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend without any spooky Halloween pranks.
The time change is awful. It takes me two weeks to adjust again. It’s such nonsense—it should be abolished immediately. And nobody actually saves any energy that way (which was supposedly the whole point).
Other than that, I’ll be spending the weekend on the couch.
Good thing Josefa brought this up—I would have completely forgotten about the clocks… I’m so focused on “my” daily routine that I don’t really pay much attention to the official ones…
Halloween just “passes us by” anyway—we live outside the village, and without streetlights, no one would find us anyway 😂🙈😂
…and here in Schleswig-Holstein, it’s unfortunately not a holiday… I have hands-on dog training on Monday… Yay…
I almost forgot about the time change, too. I think this whole back-and-forth with the time changes is terrible. Everyone is against it, but no one “up there” is doing anything about it. It totally throws off your internal rhythm—older people especially struggle with it.
Sleeping an extra hour is fine, but somehow it feels weird today.
Let’s see how the residents are doing tomorrow when I start my shift.
Hey Andrea... I wish you all the best for your first day on the job.
I think most people have more trouble with the clock going forward by an hour...
That’s been my experience at work...
I’m feeling a bit drained today and I’m tired...
