We’ve been in Germany since Wednesday. We’ve finally arrived in our new old home. It was sooooo wonderful to see everyone again—such a warm welcome, with a few tears of joy.
We’ve also checked out the apartment—it’s been beautifully renovated. Everything still smells so new.
We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us to get settled in. Tonight is our first night here.
Pictures will come later. Anyway, everything went really well.
Welcome back home. Finally, finally this huge task is done! You did a great job! Tonight you’ll sleep well and with a sense of relief. Everything else will fall into place over time.
You have to get used to so many new things; that takes time. And there is so much to discover and marvel at. And everyone speaks German. An exciting and wonderful time lies ahead of you. Above all, enjoy being together with your parents and children. You missed them just as much as they missed you. This is so lovely for everyone now.
It’s also wonderful that your parents supported you so well in finding an apartment. Without them, you’d probably still be sitting in Norway now.
Enough chatting for today. We are all happy for you and wish you a warm welcome.
Welcome home! You’ve finally made it, and I’m sure your first night was filled with dreams.
Now there are new challenges ahead that you’ll want to tackle—whether it’s setting up your new apartment, getting used to the changes here over the last few years, and so on… I think you’ll handle it all very well.
Enjoy this time before everyday life takes hold there too,
Warm regards, Ines
How wonderful.... You’ve finally arrived....
If the reunion was that heartfelt, it’ll definitely give you “new energy” to start fresh.... Setting up the apartment, unpacking boxes, and so on.....
I hope everything works out just the way you want it to.
I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart as you start your new life in your old-new home, and hope that you’ll soon feel at home again and find good friends—who, along with family, are important, as we learned many years ago when we returned for good after more than ten years in South America. We, too, received a lot of support from my parents back then—we even lived in my parents’ house for a few weeks until we found an apartment in another neighborhood. I think that, despite everything, you won’t want to miss the time you spent in Norway, because it represents an important chapter in your life.
Settle in well and just enjoy it for now, before your new daily routine catches up with you.
Dear Andrea,
Welcome home! I hope you settle back in here quickly, because it’s definitely a big adjustment! There will surely be moments when you long for Norway, because you always leave a part of yourself behind. But on the other hand, you can reconnect with old friends here, and new ones are sure to follow. Good luck in the days ahead!
Dear Andrea, welcome back😊
I hope you had sweet dreams on your first night, because they say that the dreams you have on your first night in a new home come true.
A warm welcome, Andrea, to your old new home. How wonderful that you’re back in Germany and, above all, have your family nearby. You’ll surely enjoy this happiness for a long time, since you’ve missed them for so long.
You’re also having lovely weather to welcome you—Indian summer will stick around for a few more days.
You’ve already made it through your first night in the new apartment. And you’ll be able to enjoy the next few nights with joy as well—maybe with breakfast or afternoon cake with your family the next day.
In any case, I’m happy for you and wish you a relaxed and cozy settling-in period in your new home.
I’m so overwhelmed by your welcome messages, thank you all so much. I was absolutely delighted.
I still can’t quite believe that I’m finally here. But we’re here.
Of course, it will take some time until it feels reasonably homey, and Mom and Dad are taking good care of us. My youngest son is also visiting until Sunday and has been a great help carrying the sofa up to the 3rd floor, as well as driving to the furniture stores and DIY stores.
Our moving goods are supposed to arrive on Wednesday. That already sounds good.
The kitchen and cabinets will still take a while before they arrive.
